Hi Love, I agree with your description of a culture shock and think that you have listed many helpful ideas which may help one to prepare for, or even to prevent, the feeling of culture shock to emerge, when one moves to a new place. Do you know what one might be able to do if they experience this feeling, despite having informed themselves about the new place and despite having kept an open mind towards their new environment? What could be activities or useful tools that might help a person who experiences this emotion?

Congratulations! Well done. The course material is rather time-intensive, so I think it is good that you have prioritised your different activities according to their urgency and set time aside accordingly.

it is great to hear that the e-Velp course and the self-directed learning approach is valuable to you. I agree, that especially during the current time, self-directed learning is a valuable tool, as it allows us to study online and learn and connect with an international group of people, despite the distance. I am sure that you will also be able to confidently run your workshop and that you will continue to improve your self-directed learning experience by continuing to follow your learning goals. We are all continuing to learn as we go through the e-Velp training, and I find it wonderful that we can connect with each other to support one other with any problems that we may encounter on our self-directed learning journey.

Maybe something that could still be added at the end of the path would be the final “Workshop” station. I was also wondering if the three blue dots represent the assignments that they will be submitting, or if they stand for something else.

Would you like to elaborate on the knowledge that you would like to share with VEs from your own experience, so that they can avoid certain situations? I think it might be helpful for me to learn what would be important to point out to VEs to best support them in the development and facilitation of their workshop. Thank you.

I am also interested in learning from and supporting VEs, and hope that they will be encouraged to pass their knowledge on to others. Additionally, I am also interested in supporting knowledge and skills outside of formal education and am interested in interculturalism.

I agree that the child in this picture was most likely introduced to this environment and might not have had much choice. I believe that even if she starts to enjoy the process of the shows, meeting other competitors, and choosing her outfits, that she will also be likely to experience “sexualisation” and “human insecurities in terms of beauty”. What do you think could be a good measure to protect children from experiencing such within this environment?
