I have been reading about the difference between reacting and responding; and how you want to be able to recognise your feelings/reactions; process them, and then respond.
Active Listening feels similar in that, you are consciously listening in order to pick up important information, and not to react/criticise/judge.
Looking at the person’s non-verbal’s communication is also key.
Did you already know the type of listener you were?
